Today was my last day at the RVO. Because of the long day I had yesterday, I could arrive a bit later today. At 9:30 I cycled towards the building and about 15-20 minutes later I arrived. There was still a desk left in the same room as Monique (one of the people who had arranged the DVP I joined for two days). I started working on the task I already started on Tuesday on an overview of the LGBTI activists that would possibly visit the Netherlands. For lunch Marius, Sabine and I went for a short walk towards a Turkish stand which sold food. I got some sort of Turkish spinach pancake with grilled vegetables and sauce: delicious! We walked back to the office, where I continued my "work". After I finished this, I started working on a small task for Marjella, who was working on yet another programme: an IP (Influentials Programme) with South-Africa on cycling. We brainstormed a bit on possible companies or organisations they could include in the programme. After saying goodbye to many people I had met this week, including Jos, Monique, Sabine, Marius, Marjella and Bregje, I handed in my visitors card and cycled to my family.
I have had an amazing week here at the RVO in The Hague! I have met people from all over the world, and I have learned a lot about the Netherlands, the port of Rotterdam, agriculture and horticulture, food security, problems other countries are facing, Dutch and foreign cultures, and I could go on. I have definitely reached my goal of experiencing an international working environment and I am very happy that I was able to participate in such a programme! Tomorrow, I will be headed back home, after an amazing couple of days!

Jos
